125 Scooters of Peugeot Django will Ride Across India

 If you want to explore a place by yourself and find the roads to the place by yourself, motorcycling is the best way to experience wanderlust. And that is what Samuel Felice and Ambroise Princedid when they rode from Paris, France to Saigon, Vietnam. These riders have replicated two Petty Officers of the French Navy, by Serge Gracium and Michel Vaslin, who first achieved the iconic saga by traveling from Saigon to Paris with their Peugeot Scooters S57 in 1956. And now after 60 years, the same idea is reproduced, but in an opposite direction where two riders are directors, cameramen as well editors and had a desire for such an adventure.

Sharing their lifetime experience they said, “We always wanted to do a road trip and thanks to some intense research, we came across this amazing story that took place exactly 60 years ago. It immediately echoed with our desire for adventure and what could be more exciting than covering a part of the world on a scooter? Two wheeler is a great way to make a road-trip off the beaten path, meeting people and seek beautiful scenery. Django Adventure is our tribute to the raid on its 60th year birthday, and a great opportunity to realize our dream.”

The riders have arrived in India this week. They will en route the journey to Saigon, which was started on 29^th August in Paris and have chosen the Peugeot Django 125 scooters as their weapon of travel. And to encourage this, French automaker owned by Mahindra will be supporting them in this adventure.

Inspired by the S57, the Peugeot Django 125 can be called as spiritual successor who and reproduces the iconic retro looks in a modern ensemble. The journey in India will start from 30^th September in Kolkata and will ride across the North East India to exit from Moreh in Manipur.

“This is the first time that Peugeot scooters will be seen on Indian roads. It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with this historic ride and we feel immensely proud that India will be a part of this passionate and challenging road trip,” said the CEO of Mahindra Two Wheelers, Mr. Vinod Sahay.
