Ian Toothill climbing Everest in May

In spite of suffering from terminal cancer, On Monday, he conquered his goal of reaching the peak. His trip also raised money for cancer charity Macmillan. Resident of London, Ian was told that he had several months just to live. He was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in June, 2015 which he succeeded to tackle. But in early July of 2016, he was told that the demon of cancer has returned.

 

He tweeted, "Nothing to see here, just some cancer dude [Sheffield Wednesday] fan on the summit of Everest with a @SUFC_tweets flag." He climbed the top of the North Col route on 16 May and the summit of Everest on 5 June. He believes that it is an amazing achievement. Almost £31,500 was fundraised, where most of it was used for his trip, and the excess was donated to the charity.
