100 Lifeguards In India Will Be Trained By Scuba Diving Centre

An amount of Rs. 25 lacs has been allotted by the government to the district officers of Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad and Palghar for the beach safety initiative, which is to be carried out in the coastal areas of Maharashtra as stated by the officials.  And it is a moment of joy as the Indian Institute of Scuba Diving and Aquatic Sports (IISDA) has been selected for training the lifeguards under this programme.  ‘International instructors will be taking the training programme, the officials added.

“It is a great honor for us that IISDA has been selected for such an important initiative across the busy and popular coastal line. This initiative is another example of responsible tourism that Maharashtra has been following for many years,” said Valsa Nair Singh, the principal secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra.

 

“IISDA is one of the best training institutes for scuba diving and aquatic sports, not only in India but across Asia. At IISDA, we will ensure that the 10-day programme will be precise and robust to train 100 lifeguards.” said MTDC’s joint managing director, Satish Soni.
