So if you are looking for a trekking adventure that has a challenging route and get a chance to imbibe the culture of the area, this is the holiday you are looking for!
Day 1: Meesapulimala Trek
The first day of your Munnar trekking holiday contains a challenging trek to Meesapulimala. The trek would start very early in the morning. Meesapulimala is the second highest peak in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of 2640 metres. Your trekking route will be the typical terrain of this region, part high altitude rainforest (shola forests) and part grasslands. There is also a large variety of wildlife that you may spot on your way to Meesapulimala. At Meesapulimala, you can rest your eyes on a beautiful landscape of deep green forests and tea estates. You can even see the world’s highest tea estate from this point, the Kolukkumalai tea estate. This is a full day trek.
Day 2: Lakeside Trek
The second day of your Munnar trekking holiday starts from our Anaerangal camp. Anaerangal literally means ‘where the elephants come down’. Your trek will ensure that you move through the forests towards the beautiful Anaerangal Lake. Snaking across a large area, this lake is placid and peaceful and a source of water for farmers downstream.
