Day 1: Jaipur

Arrive Delhi & transfer to Jaipur – the vibrant capital of Rajasthan and popularly known as the ‘Pink City’; the colour associated with hospitality. Jaipur is surrounded by barren hills surmounted by forts. This buzzing metropolis is certainly a place of wild contrasts and a feast for the eyes. Vegetable laden camel carts tread their way through the streets jam-packed with rickshaws, bicycles, tempos, motorcycles and pedestrians dodging the crazy traffic. On the first day we will meet the guides and fit the cycles to your specifications.

Day 2: Jaipur

In the morning we will visit Amber Fort. The fort has influences of both Hindu and Muslim architecture and boasts of various buildings of prominence like the 'Diwan-i-Aam', the 'Sheesh Mahal' and even the 'Sukh Mahal'. After the fort visit, we will have some time to do some shopping and to move around the city. In the evening we will check out the cycles and have a briefing.

Day 3: Talabgaon

After breakfast, we will make a short transfer to avoid the traffic and start cycling from a village on the outskirts of the city. Today our destination will be Talabgaon, where we will be staying overnight at a 200 year old castle restored into Heritage Resort.

Day 4: Tonk

Founded in the 17th century, the town of Tonk serves as a host to several mansions, mosques and British colonial buildings. This cross-cultural town is a mixture of Rajput buildings and Muslim architecture, which sets this town apart from others.

Day 5 & 6: Ranthambore

Our destination for the day is Ranthambore. This National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan & a favourite haunt of wildlife buffs & professional wildlife photographers from around the world. The park is famous for its tigers, one of the most magnificent animals of India, which has long fascinated people with its awesome power and beautifully striped coat. There are also many other species to see including sambar, wild boar, leopard, sloth bear, jackal and hyena among others. The park itself covers 1334sq km and its scenery is beautiful. On the second day we will be doing a safari at to the National Park.

Day 7 & 8: Karauli

We will start cycling through the National Park where you have an opportunity to interact with the locals and gain greater insight into their lives. This diverse state is the home of the Rajputs, a group of warrior clans and tribes who have controlled this part of India for thousands of years. The traditional bright and colourful dresses of the locals, their primitive means of agriculture, traditional homes and lifestyles, camel carts and donkey carts, traditional occupations such as clay pottery & hand printing of fabrics, provide a firsthand experience of a living museum. We have a free day at Karauli to explore the city.

Day 9 & 10: Bharatpur

We will cycle to the lunch point on the last day and the rest of the way by coaches to Bharatpur. It is famous for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a World Heritage site, one of the finest water-bird sanctuaries in the world. Its shallow, fresh water marsh attracts thousands of migratory birds. On the second day, we will make our way to Agra by car & see Taj Mahal. The white marble mausoleum was built as a monument to romantic love. Shah Jehan - the emperor of India - built it in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. A work force of 20,000 started the project in 1632. It was completed in 1653. It's particularly worth seeing in the evening when the building changes colour as the sun goes down. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the city.

Day 11 & 12: Delhi

Today is your arrival in Delhi. Delhi, India's political and business hub: huge, congested and richly diverse. We'll take you to Lutyen’s Bungalow Home stay. Old and New Delhi is worth exploring - by car and/or by rickshaw (three wheeler). You'll find monuments, shrines, plazas, parks and gardens, markets, museums and Government buildings. There's the wonderfully manic bazaar called Chandni Chowk, India's largest mosque - the Jama Masjid which along with the Red Fort dominates Old Delhi (25,000 people can fit in the courtyard of the mosque), and excellent shopping at the Dilli Haat, an open market where you can by crafts and food directly from the producers.
