While staying at Kanatal camp, you can visit many nearby places of importance. Some of the places are:
· Surkhanda Devi Temple - Considered as the fifth dham of Garhwal, located at 10,000 ft. is 8 Kms drive & 2 Kms trek.
· Dhanaulti - Forested splendour, it is the snow point of Mussoorie. A must visit.
· Tehri Dam - 35 Kms from camp site, Tehri Dam Reservoir is a worth visiting place to see the modern day wonder.
· Kaudia - A day-picnic can be organized in the dense forest of Kaudia.
Climate
Kanatal is a very cool place with greenery at its full bloom during September to November. The best seasons to visit are between April to June and again during September to November. The Maximum Temperature may reach up to a maximum of 25 °C and can reach a minimum of 4 °C during Nights.
