Ninja Camps welcomes you all to our first sky gazing session of the season.

Get ready for the 'Stargazing Night’ at Mamnoli village, Kalyan.

Event Date: 29th April 2017. (Saturday Night)
Venue: Hindu Seva Sangh, Mamnoli, Kalyan West. 

Amateur & Novice Users can also join and take an opportunity to know the Night Sky and observe some of the deep sky objects like Planets, Nebulae’s, Galaxies, Globular Cluster, Open Clusters, Double Stars and of course our Milky Way Galaxy. No prior knowledge of astronomy is necessary for them. 
Introduction to Night Sky will be provided during the Event.


The tentative schedule for the event:
Participants are requested to reach by 6.00pm at the campsite. Sunset is at 6.59 pm

6.30 pm to 7.00 pm - Introduction Round. Know your group over evening snacks and tea.
7.00 pm to 8.00 pm – Presentation on Astronomy
8.00 to 8.30 pm – Introduction to naked sky and orientation
8.30 pm to 9.30 pm – Telescope orientation and first sky observation session
9.30 pm to 10.30 pm – Dinner Break
10.30 pm to 11.30 pm – Introduction to deep sky objects and messier catalog
11.30 pm to 12.30 am – Messier Objects through telescope
12.30 am to 1.00 am – Tea Break
1.00 am to 3.30 am – Power Nap – You can either sleep or join us in observations and discussions or carry out astrophotography if you have a camera.
3.30 am to 4.00 am – Tea Break
4.00 am to 5.30 am – Third sky observation and witnessing a beautiful Milky way – Our own galaxy. 
5.30 am to 6.00 am – Group Photo and enjoying the sunrise with hot tea.
6.30 am – Event closure.

These timings are tentative and may vary slightly depending on seasons and sky condition.

Participants can depart from the campsite, or hang around with us from informal discussion/talk/contact sharing

Participants are free to observe all night or retire for a short sleep and join us again for observations.

We greatly encourage informal interactions/discussion with us at any time during the night. The Stargazing experts will answer (or try to be as close to your satisfaction as possible) all your questions. WE WILL BE AWAKE ALL NIGHT TO FACILITATE THOSE WHO WISH TO STAY AWAKE AND OBSERVE THE NIGHT SKY WITH US.

 

Instructions and Pointers:
1. Carry enough warm clothing (particularly to keep your ears, body, and feet warm) like scarf, sweaters, hood jackets, skull caps, shawls/sheets, Closed Shoes, etc. (Temp in Night will dip considerably 12-16-degree C).
2. It is advisable to carry your own mattress/satranji/tarpaulin Sheet – we will be providing a basic mattress to facilitate sitting.
3. Carry a Small torch with red Cellophane paper, personal medication and mosquito cream.
4. For Astrophotography, the participant should bring in their own DSLR Camera, Tripod, Remote, Charger and Extra Battery.
5. We recommend that participants stock themselves with light snacks and personal water bottle (Need to drink water regularly).
6. Dinner cost is covered in the registration fees and the campsite will cater dinner needs. Dinner will have Homemade Veg food and is very tasty.
7. It goes without saying that littering at the campsite is not permissible and we will be making arrangements for garbage bin that can be put to their optimum use.
8. Consumption of Alcohol is strictly prohibited.


Rules and Regulations:
While at the campsite you (Participants) are requested to strictly adhere to the following rules:

1. Prior Registration is compulsory for all the participants.
2. Due to campsite constraints, we won’t be able to accommodate half-night, half program charges.
3. Although the campsite is secure with partial fencing, NO ONE should wander off the campsite without intimating the organizers or without organizer’s permission.
4. Use of white small torch should be minimal, it should be covered with Red Cellophane paper for reading Night Sky Maps.
5. Use of and camera with flash is to be minimal as possible or AS INSTRUCTED BY THE INSTRUCTORS / ORGANIZERS during the Observation Sessions.
6. Do not Flash Bright Torch or Camera Flash on others during Observation Sessions. HUMAN EYE requires 30 Minutes to completely adapt to the Dark Night Sky.
7. If you are carrying your own observation instrument like telescopes, binoculars, tripods, stands equipment (DSLR Camera and accessories) etc., then you yourself are responsible for all your equipment.
8. Smoking and Drinking Alcohol is strictly prohibited at the Site. Drunken participants will be asked to leave the Site immediately. We strongly discourage you from consuming alcohol in any form. The Organizers reserve the right to expel offending participants from the campsite.

** No refund on cancellation & postponed of shows due to BAD Cloudy /Rainy Climate.
