This place is located around 90 kms from Bangalore and 35 kms from Tumkur. This place is completely covered by rocky terrain and boulders and natural cave houses and caves.
This place attracts a lot of pilgrims and nature lovers and climbers. There is a shrine dedicated to lord Shiva (known as siddalingeswara) at the mountain caves which is the main attraction of this place, also there are vast number of caves which can be explored alongside trainers and guides.
This places is named after a lot of saints who used to perform meditation during ancient times in the caves and as the time gone by the number of saints in the mountain caves are gone done and some of the saints worshiping stay in the ashram below the mountain near base.
As this place is near to Madhugiri and Devarayanadurga it is surrounded by the thick cover of forest having many flora and fauna. This is also an ideal place for Bird watching in the forests and one regularly see various types of birds which often migrates to this place and most often spotted one is the Yellow Throated Bulbul and view of the Kingfisher apart from this one can also view some wild animals like Bears and rare spot of the Leopards. The forest surrounding this place has many herbs and medicinal plants.
Trekking at this place is also an enchanting activity as the trek from base to temple is pretty easy path as there is mountain carved steps (steps carved in boulders) till the temple path and also we need to enter the cave to visit the idol of siddalingeswara. And then we will be trekking in an uneven moderate area filled with rocks and boulders, we will be continuing till the cave exploring point and explore some of unexplored and move towards the peak to see the glorious view of the surrounding area.
We conduct day outings and Night treks at this place for all age group of participants from Corporate to family groups to students from institutions, our day outing comprises of adventure trekking and adventurously exploring some of the unexplored caves and compete the rope based descent activity Rappelling from one of the boulders and some team building games and view of sunset and trek back to conclude.
