What Makes The Valley Great?

Best Weather for Paragliding
The Bir Billing valley has an awesome weather throughout the year. Even on the days when the weather is not good, still, a person can fly around 20 to 30 kilometres. On the days when the weather is great crossing the 100km mark is also quite easy. The ideal months for paragliding are October and November which is in autumn and for spring from the month of March to May are also somewhat flyable. However, the conditions are quite strong in spring with the wind currents of 6-12 m/sec. The temperature of the Bir Billing Valley hovers from 10 to 25’C.
How to Reach Bir Billing
Bir Billing is not a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, there are not many direct buses that you are going to find from Delhi. Baijnath being a popular pilgrim destination is around 30 minutes from the valley. There are a number of buses that you will get from Delhi. One of the best ways of covering the entire journey to the valley is by taking the Kangra Valley Railway toy train. Every morning there is a toy train that is run by the Kangra Valley Railway which will make you reach Ahju that is just 3km from Bir.
If you reach Billing around afternoon, you can get enough time for setting up your camp by collecting some wood for burning the fire. As the Sun would be about to set, it will prove to be a delight for the paragliders who are an avid photographer. The picturesque views of the valley will make it even more special to click pictures. After the dinner alongside the bonfire, you all should retire to the tents in order to get ready for the paragliding the next day.
The Big Day: Paragliding
It is always better to take the activity of paragliding in a group and start early. After having a healthy breakfast, you should immediately start with the paragliding. It is an exciting opportunity to paraglide on the World’s second largest paragliding spot. The paragliders usually become quite nervous on seeing the elevation and the strong wind speeds. But, somehow you are required to build up your confidence and began with paragliding. The total time for the flight is usually about 25 to 30 minutes.
