Vaitarna Lake is also called as upper Vaitarna portion, It is an earth fill and gravity dam on west flowing Vaitarna river near Igatpuri, Nashik district of Maharashtra state. the reservoir is created by this dam spreads on both Vaitarna and Godavari rivers catchment area. Vaitarna dam is one of the main Municipal water supply to Mumbai City.This place is rarely visited by tourists and it is surrounded by mountains and small small villages consisting of 8-15 houses per village. Imagine a camping trip with such beautiful surrounding, delicious food made on chullha and the opportunity to make new friends.
Star gazing is an activity carried out in the presence of experts observing stars, planets and other objects in universe with the help of Telescope. “Mumbai Travellers in association with Beyond Earth”; is organizing this event “Stargazing & Camping” where you will be spending your whole night with stars on the riverside campsite witnessing one of the dark skies of Maharashtra.
Day 1 :
Board 12:28 pm semi-fast train from CST to Kasara. Reach Kasara railway station by 02:52 pm. Meet and greet by our leader near ticket counter. Proceed towards our campsite at Vaitarna by traxx. Freshen up and have refreshment. Introduction and briefing session. Get our bags ready to reach riverside. Once reached, we will proceed with stargazing session. Our expert Mr.Vikram Virulkar will share his part of information on Astronomy and stargazing.
9:30 pm : Dinner. Post dinner Star-gazing continues. You have option of exploring more and more stars till late night. Enjoy the Campfire and rest in the tents.
Day 2 :
8:00 am. Morning breakfast. Have fun on the riverside and some group activities. Proceed from campsite to Kasara station. En-route have lunch and proceed towards Kasara station. Reach Kasara by 03-04 pm by evening.
DISCLAIMER
1. Basic Washroom facility available at campsite, this is a raw camping and not a leisure so one needs to be prepare themselves accordingly.
2. We won’t allow any traveller to reach at campsite by their own vehicle, as the route is complicated and it creates too much of chaos, we want a smooth and super happening trip. You can come till Kasara by your own vehicle and park it at Kasara station and join our local transport from their itself.
3. Please go through the complete itinerary, we will not entertain any request of leaving early from the event. It’s a group event not a customized one, so please adhere to schedule and take back lovely memories.
