Camping in Barot is the most popular family and corporate weekend getaway from Punjab,Haryana & Chandigarh. Barot is situated at 6,100 ft. at Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh . It is at the distance of 260 Kms/8 hrs from Chandigarh and 200 K.M. away from Pathankot , tucked away in the midst of deep forests of cedar and oaks. Set in the heart of the Indian Himalayas and surrounded by dense Pine, long wooded slopes of Deodar, Pine, Oak and Rhododendron forests. Camp Carnival at Barot is situated at 6100 ft high in the Hills of Barot valley. It is only 55 KM away from Bir –Billing , the famous world cup paragliding site .It is 66 Kms from Mandi and 40 Kms from Jogindernagar. Places Surroundings to the Camp:
Chotta Bhangal valley, 9 Kms It is 9kms far from our base camps by road. If you are really looking for a good trek, you can add a good trekking experience of Chotta Bhangal valley. It is a V shaped valley made by Lamba Dug river. It is surrounded by dense forests and affords a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himalayas.
Bara Gram 15 K.M. –Bara gram lies in Barot valley and last village of Barot valley approachable by road. From Bara gram Billing is only 12 K.M. away by trekking. Thos place situated near Uhl river and offers very beautiful landscape views of Himalayas.
Joginder Nagar, 40 Kms It is the last railway station of Pathakot - Jogindernagar narrow gauge railway line and here is Shanan power project , the first hydel power project in India completed in 1932 . The rail journey is very pleasant here as train goes through lonely forests and along rivers of Kangra valley . A very good destination for tourists to enjoy nature ,history and Himalayan rail journey .
Bir - Billing, 55 Kms Bir – Billing is the world famous paragliding site where pre world cup and world cup paragliding competition happens. This place is heaven for paragliding lovers as it is the second longest paragliding site in world. Beside competitions, here you can also enjoy short fun paragliding with pilot along with you.
Mandi, 65 KM Mandi town is a very sacred place as it is also called as Little Kashi. There are more than 100 small and big temples of Lord Shiva in Mandi. Some of these are very old of about 16 Century. Some of most popular are Panchvakatra mahadev Temple , Bhootnath Temple ,
Mahamritunjay Temple . Also Bheema Kali temple and Gurudwara are also of great attraction at Mandi. This is a must visit place to see history and religion
