The trail of the Har ki Dun trek passes through moraine ridges, alpine meadows, pine forests, glacier basins and ancient villages. It is a great opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of the valley at the same time experiencing the slow paced local lifestyle.
Adorned with the title of “Valley of Gods” in Hindu mythology, one has to follow the trail which was taken by Pandavas to ascend to heaven via Swargarohini, the most dominating mountain of Har ki Dun Valley. The unique mountain views is what makes the Har ki Dun Trek cost a value for money. Har ki Dun is the only valley from where you can see Swargarohini – I, II, III, Blackpeak and Bandarpoonch all together.
Being a valley trek, you get to walk along the Supin River. As the trail is still not taken up very often, one can see the birds and animals strolling in the region. You can spot black bears, langoor families, Barasingha and wild boars. Populated with ancient villages some of which are over 3000 years old, this trek would take you back in time where things were simple and life was just as beautiful as the valley.
