Pandavulagutaa, Hyderabad: Aiming to promote rock climbing and other eco-friendly tourism activities, the district forest department of Bhupalpally has organized a ‘Rock Climbing Festival in Pansavulagutta. The two day festival will start from tomorrow, on 2nd September and end on 3rd September.
T Ravi Kiran, the district forest officer informed that the festival will be inaugurated by Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, District Collector A Murali and other senior officials. The departments have planned to promote Pandavulagutta as a potential spot for trekking and rock climbing.
He said that as far now, there are about 150 people who have registered themselves for the festival. The majority of the rock climbers and club members are from Hyderabad and students from National Institute of Technology, Warangal.
Considering the safety measures, 10 professional rock climbers will be allotted who will assist and guide the participates. And tips, do’s and don’t’s and other required lessons will also be provided to the participants before they begin the task.
Kiran noted that there are 120 routes identified in total which also include the cluster of rocks in the event. Such kind of a festival is held for the first time in the State.
