Tosa Maidan In Kashmir Is Now Open To Public

 A land which was only used for firing practice by Indian Army is now thrown open to public for tourism. Tosa maidan , a meadow at Budgam district, just 10 kms away from Khag, is one of the largest pastures having 3 miles length and 1.5 miles width. Surrounded by lofty mountains, Tosa maidan is all about High altitude lakes, exotic flora and fauna and dense forest.

The chief minister Mehbooba Mufti started the inauguration of a 3-day Tosa Maidan Festival. The festival will include activities like horse riding, trekking and mountaineering. The government had leased over 3,000 acres of land at Tosa maidan to Indian Army in 1964 for practicing artillery fire. After 50 years, it was de-notified in 2014. Around 63 people were killed and 40 others sustained injuries due to the explosion of unexploded shells in and around reloj patek philippe replica Tosa maidan since 1965. "Tosa maidan will be brought on the tourism map of the state as an independent and distinct resort without disturbing its fragile environment.
