How to reach
The best way to go to Shikari Devi, in my experience is by bikes. The road from Janjheli to the foothill of Shikari Devi, is not just challenging, its the whole package. Once you are there you'll have to climb up 602 stairs( i know the exact number, because we counted it). Once you are there, you'll be blown by the beauty of those hills. You can see as far as Shimla from there. There aren't any places to stay there except a Forest guesthouse, which you need to book in advance as they only have three rooms. If you dont want to stay there, or if the trip was impromptu and you haven't booked at the guest house, you can always come back to Janjheli. They have a few decent guesthouses, ranging from INR 300 to INR 700.

Where:

Janjehli, Himachal Pradesh, India

How to Reach:

Shikari Devi can be reached from Karsog, Janjehli and Jahl. Distance of Shikari Devi Peak from Chindi (in Karsog Valley, Mandi) is around 18 kilometres. Karsog – Shikari Devi trek is one of its kinds with splendid views of pine and deodar woods, apple orchards and small villages on the way. Climbing the mountains from Janjehli or Karsog to Shikari Devi is a little difficult. You can expect sudden weather changes in the region. From occasional rain showers to hails, clouds hovering above peaks as high as 3300 meters are completely unpredictable. It’s advisable to carry woollen garments along unless you are trekking on a bright sunny day. (Courtsey-http://www.newhp.net/shikari-devi/)
