When you undertake this trekking expedition, the participants can easily reach the highest peak in the Stok Kangri mountain range. The altitude of this trek is equivalent to nearly 70% as that of the Mount Everest, making this trekking expedition even more enthralling and interesting. A number of challenges will come across the trekkers, the most prominent being low level of oxygen as one approaches the highest of the mountain peaks. This is the reason it is significant for the trekkers to get accustomed to the climate of the region before beginning the Stok Kangri trekking trip. Keeping this in mind, we have allocated the first 2 days of the entire trekking expedition just for the purpose of getting the participants acclimatized with the surroundings and the actual trekking expedition starts from the Day 3 of the trip.
Seeing the high altitude of the Stok Kangri peak, considering this trek as an easy trek would be like living in the fool's paradise. This is an extremely difficult trek and is the prime reason that attracts trekkers from round the world to trek it. We advise that those individuals who possess a prior trekking experience should try this trekking experience. This trek is certainly not for the beginners. The novice trekkers may go home half way after facing disappointment. It is of great importance for those who trek the Stok Kangri peak to be both mentally as well as physically fit and have the strength to climb an altitude of more than 20,000 feet above the level of the sea. We advise our participants to start following a fitness regime at least a few months before they plan to go for the Stok Kangri trekking expedition.
Despite of the challenges it possesses, the Stok Kangri trek is the most powerful trekking trail in the entire Himalayan ranges. While trekking here, the participants can take a glance at the amazing peaks of Zanskar and Ladakh ranges apart from soaking in the picturesque beauty of the famous Indus valley. The trek is full of adventure activities which will give a huge rush to your adrenaline; you will be required to cross glaciers, indulge in traversing in the Hemis National Park and cross a steep ridge. Once you will trek through the different places and reach the acme of Stok Kangri, you will feel that you have conquered the entire world.
