Kunti Betta Trek | Bengaluru

Kunti betta a place closer to Bangalore at a distance of 95 Th miles on Bangalore Mysore road near the historical town of Srirangapatna, it lies in Pandavapura Taluk of Mandya District. This place Pandavapura was named after the Pandavas who had been here with their mother Kunti and spent some of their exile days here during dwaparayuga. The summit here which closes to 1000 ft from ground level was the favorite places of the Kunti, hence it was named after her called Kunti Betta.

The Kunti betta is series of 2 to 3 mountains series to each other, which is visible from the distant Srirangapatna as it stands strendresly, behind the mountains is the Thanoor Lake which acts as source of potable water for the villages around. The water to this lake flows from the backwaters of the KRS DAM and hence you can always find water here in all the seasons.

This place is again one of the offbeat places for corporate teams and institutional groups to escape and explore the nature very closely free from the pollution and traffic as it is close to Bangalore city.

We also conduct night treks here where the groups undergoing can experience fun of hiking the mountain to reach the base of the peak and to start camping with bonfire activity and view the first rays of glowing sun touch this part of earth and trek down to the Thanoor Lake and have dip there with life jackets provided.

Other attraction closer to this place is the KRS DAM which is 20 kms away from this place one of the popular dam constructed by the architect genius Sir M Vishveswaraih across river Cauvery flowing from Kodagu Dist. this is major source of water for all the farmers around the mandya dist for irrigation and drinking, also drinking water supply to entire Bangalore city is from this place. This water is also used for hydel power generation in Shimsha near shivanasamudra falls or gaganachukki and bharachukki falls.
